Utilize vs. Collect and Gather
I have realized that I have a tendency to get stuck in a cycle of collecting and gathering information and not move forward to utilizing it. This creates difficulty with organizing that information and confusion caused by too much information. Finding the next perfect piece of information can be paralyzing and can also be addictive. I guess this makes me an information hoarder! I bet I am not alone though.
I have decided to consciously use the realizations that I gain through my journal practice as well as the techniques I have learned over the years. This makes a much more individual and meaningful version of horsemanship. I have been sharing my realizations with you in the hopes of helping someone else shorten their learning curve with their horse, as well as to cement those things in my brain and to use them.
Some things that I have found helpful in this process are:

- Utilize the information I already have.
- To continue to journal regularly and periodically summarize the things I want to be sure to put into action.
- To pick one focus or concept that I want to work on with Gunny and practice that until it is automatic for me.
