Deeper Understanding Part 2

The next day was a gorgeous day outside, so I took my camp chair and went out and sat by where Gunny was eating hay to journal more about my thoughts from the day before. I started with the question, "How else could I respond?" This quickly led me to, "How else could I view the ears back, hard eyes expression?"

I asked myself what about if I viewed "that look" as a "no, not that way, you need to do it different"; a form of communication that is not about bossiness or dominance. What would it look like then? So I went through my play-by-play of the day before from this new perspective and came up with many new thoughts and insights that felt much better to me and turned out to work much better in action too.

As I was sitting and writing, Gunny came by and stood close with his face near my head. He was soft and calm and chewing a LOT. He touched my notebook with his nose when I started to write about using the ears back to mean something different.

In my next post I will share my journal entry regarding the new perspective.
