Approaching, Fly Spraying and Haltering with Cooperation
These are three mundane things that we do often with our horses. And these can be sources of cooperation and partnership or they can be where the first, subtle signs of problems start.
In the video below I show a clip of Gunny and I doing these things. In the video caption, I refer to a "NQR". This stands for "not quite right" and is a term that Jenny Pearce uses to describe an intuitive feeling that we get that is our early warning sign and also that we can feel before any visual signs show in the horse. Learning to feel for these NQR's and listen to them have been another key to finding harmony while we are doing things together.
Another thing to notice in the video is when I walk off with Gunny, there is no moment of resistance or hesitation on Gunny's part where the rope goes taut. This is a result of applying the principle that I referred to in my last couple of posts.
